Senior Design Manager

As a Senior Design Manager, assigned to our LAWA project at Los Angeles International Airport, you will plan, develop, organize, and supervise the design efforts for the project. During construction it is expected that you will move to the operations team supporting construction in the field. Responsibilities Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct large engineering projects through the selection of alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems Coordinate design efforts with personnel in related departments, construction project managers and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern under limited supervision of the engineering manager Maintain records, lists and reports as required to insure compliance with the company (design/build) or client's schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, or to insure problems are monitored and resolved Coordinate/supervise work of drafters, designers, technical assistants, engineers, subcontractors; including work assignments, scheduling, and review Perform special studies or analyses involving review, research, calculation, and selection required to develop required reports Exercise high professional standards and ethics Maintain familiarity with current industry standards, applicable design codes and company policies.  May be involved with various committees (external and internal) to draft various standards, codes or policies Manage and administer department functions associated with construction temporary works engineering including operating budgets, staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, etc Function as the prime contact coordinating the resolution of problems, reviewing progress, recommending alternatives and advising on project objectives Develop or evaluate plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the design effort. Provide consulting expertise within multiple areas of specialization Supervise staff of  engineers, drafters, designers, other technical specialists and support personnel; including, estimating manpower needs, developing work assignments, scheduling, personnel appraisals and the like Support published corporate policies. Provide resource for policy growth to meet industry advancements Provide regular technical input to corporate advisory committees as required Provide full administrative and technical direction of all design personnel, onsite inspection, training, coordination of construction temporary works operations Provide design of permanent structures or systems, on occasion, as they relate to the company's active area of work Provide construction consultation in methods, materials, practice and/or corporate policy to field supervision personnel Act as company representative at industry association meetings Set productive, consistent, and acceptable work example Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan Support published corporate policies Perform additional assignments per management's direction Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 15 years related experience in the construction industry Estimating & Cost Control, Construction Design & Engineering, Management and Accounting/Finance experience Advanced knowledge of engineering techniques Professional Engineer License (PE) in multiple states preferred 2313

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
