Construction Manager

Flatiron is currently initiating a search for a Construction Manager - Transit and Electrical Systems to join our team. As a Construction Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate on-site construction activities on construction projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsibilities: Flatiron has an immediate opening for a Construction Manager -Transit and Electrical Systems to work on a mega Design/Build Project in Southern California. The right candidate is a highly experienced leader in the transit industry, having overseen design and construction of one or more complex transit projects including, signals, communication, traction power, systems integration, station electrical and other related disciplines. This position will be senior member of the Design/Build team reporting to the overall Construction Manager for the Project and will have complete oversight over transit systems and other electrical scopes for the project. This position will have several direct reports within the Design/Build team and have direct responsibility for the management of multiple subcontractors and vendors. Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to deliver urban transit projects under design/build and other alternative delivery contracts successfully on time and on budget. A robust understanding of safety, security and quality requirements for complex transit systems is essential. Experience working for the contractor at management capacities will be highly desirable. Manage key field and professional staff responsible for and project construction Directs and coordinates activities of field personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget Monitor construction schedule, cost and quality to ensure project goals are met Reviews status reports prepared by project management and modifies schedules or plans as required Coordinate multi-phases and tasks of construction including the management & scheduling of subcontractors, vendors and suppliers as well as any self-performed work Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies Provide positive safety leadership to the project Conduct performance reviews with subordinates Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan Support published corporate policies Perform additional assignments per management's direction Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 10 years related experience and/or training in the construction or Electrical Engineering industry Minimum of 5 years of Transit, Rail, or LRT projects working for a contractor or electrical engineering firm. 2688

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
